Summit Hill Flavors, Middlesex, N.J. announces the USDA/FSIS has approved their MinPro® line of real Savory Flavors for use in USDA Inspected Meat and Poultry Products making the “Natural” claim. MinPro® Natural Flavors are “minimally processed” and are made from hormone free and antibiotic free "natural" chicken, turkey, ham, bacon and beef raw materials.

IN MEMORIAM - Robert Taras

Together with the Taras family, we are saddend to announce the passing of Robert Taras this past Saturday at his home in Selbyville, Delaware.

Bob has been a partner at our company since its inception.  For many years, Bob was untiring and gracious with his support, always available when called.  We were fortunate to recruit him to serve as our Director of Quality Systems from 2002 until his retirement in 2007.

On the behalf our our senior management, Dr. Jurgen Scheide, Dwight Grenawalt and Sanford Feld, we would like to extend our sincerest condolences to his family and especially to his wife Carol.

MIDDLESEX, NJ - Summit Hill Flavors, Middlesex, N.J. announces the USDA/FSIS has approved their MinPro® line of real Savory Flavors for use in USDA Inspected Meat and Poultry Products making the “Natural” claim. MinPro® Natural Flavors are “minimally processed” and are made from hormone free and antibiotic free “natural” chicken, turkey, ham, bacon and beef raw materials.  The flavors provide a “clean label” with no added flavor enhancers or artificial ingredients. Flavors are available both for dry and liquid applications and can be used in meat & poultry marinade & basting solutions, soups, broths, gravies, sauces, breading & coatings, pasta, side dishes, food bases, flavor systems, topical coatings & seasonings, and main dishes.

Regulatory Jurisdictional Changes Affecting Flavor Manufacturers

MIDDLESEX, NJ - OCT 1 2007 -- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has determined that all flavor manufacturers using real meat and poultry in their process operations now come under sole jurisdiction of USDA-FSIS.

Summit Hill® Flavors uses real meat and poultry in the manufacture of its “natural, clean-label” meat and poultry flavors, and we are now obligated to produce those flavors under USDA-FSIS inspection.  In addition, the labeling of all Summit Hill® meat and poultry flavors will be determined solely by USDA-FSIS.
